A protein drink that understands moderation and uses it effectively to create relatively smooth, adequately flavorful and appropriately sweet experience.
Tastes like you'd expect a high protein drink would— undersweet, under chocolaty, over ‘enriched' (multi-vitaminy)-- none of which approach an extreme level (thankfully). The texture is dense and starchy, but not too drying. I've had a lot worse, but tastewise, it’s still sub par in the chocolate milk category.
This is how I'd expect chocolate milk to taste if it came from an artesian well. A moderate amount of cream is about all that separates this from spring water.
Sweet banana scent that accurately represents the flavor as well. It's decidedly toward the banana end of the spectrum (versus the chocolate end) but is smooth enough to sip without any red flags.
Strong and nearly rancid banana scent, though the flavor is more what you’d expect (much more banana than chocolate). Dense yet smooth and surprisingly not starchy-feeling, I found myself enjoying it more as I got used to it. There’s a mild wheaty undertone that becomes more noticeable in the aftertaste, but it’s not terrible considering its makeup.
One of the sweeter liquids I’ve had in quite some time. It’s so prominent that it detracts attention away from the chocolate (unfortunately) and the texture (fortunately). Feel-wise, it's a departure from ‘milky’ and has a noticeable grit, even visually so.
Salty and eventually malty with a caramel-like note as well. The stevia is rather well hidden, as is the cocoa flavor. The aftertaste may be a bit sharp for some, but it’s a unique flavor that was unexpected given its packaging and claims.
Unnaturally sludgy texture that oozes forth an earthy, contrived cocoa flavor. Expect a fair bit of residue to line the inside of wherever you choose to pour this— but I don’t recommend ‘the mouth.’
A remarkable drink in many respects-- it has a unique ingredient list (including caffeine and marula fruit puree) and also an unusual nutritional profile (4.1g fat, 5.7g protein, 163mg calcium per 100mL). The taste is creamy, decently chocolaty, and has a tiny hint of Bailey’s Irish Cream flavor. All in all, one to remember, and one to seek out if you’re in the Vienna area.
Tastes exactly like an Amazon Prime box that sat out in a rain shower and then partially dried. This sensation exacerbates in the aftertaste-- it simply won't go away despite threats, prayers, and a fistful of smoky bbq chips. Don't torture yourself.
Nicely undersweet, good consistency, but as much ‘wheaty’ flavor as cocoa.
The flavor and texture are ok for a protein-enriched product, but nowhere good enough to warrant the extreme 100 calories & 16g carbs per 100mL expense. I get that this is supposed to be for those who want to ‘gain’—but for those who are looking for taste alone, this should be avoided. Maltodextrin as the second ingredient is not something I've seen before.
A highly salty and slightly cardboard-y take on the cookies-n-cream flavor (it compares poorly to the Hershey’s versions). The sweetness and cream help the drinkability considerably, but it’s far inferior to its chocolate counterpart.
Extremely chalky, very mildly chocolaty, and relatively unsweet— I applaud the uniqueness in flavor and the aim towards ‘better for you’— but there is little reason to pursue this version for taste alone.
The sweetness has a sharp bite to it that carries on into the aftertaste and wrests control of the entirety of the drink. From a texture standpoint, it’s grainy and unnecessarily thick. Can’t recommend this one.
Cloying sweetness masks whatever cocoa flavor there is supposed to be, and it carries on into the aftertaste. There’s enough salt, and the consistency is decent, but the supporting flavors aren’t good enough to compensate for the lack of chocolate.
Fantastically creamy and delicious— could only be improved by having a stronger cocoa quotient. Very enjoyable to drink and feels both indulgent and sophisticated.
Thick, chalky, and what sweetness exists tastes artificial and weird, though not completely out of character for Fairlife products. I appreciate that it’s low sugar and (very) high protein and it bears much more semblance to milk than other products in its category— but to drink it for its flavor is not recommended.
Very powdery chocolate flavor and texture— left lots of tiny grit on the tongue. Otherwise, quite average across the board.
Thick, chalky texture and an unrewarding earthy taste. It carries a powdery quality that will dry out your mouth post-swallow— remedying this discomfort is the only incentive to take another sip.
