There’s a sour note that works for me— it helps to bring out the cocoa flavor and salt. Decently creamy as well, the overall package is good.

First thing I noticed was a sharp saltiness, which is not necessarily a bad thing— I feel it is often a quality lacking in chocolate milk. Sweetness plays a relatively minor role here, and it works.

Noticeably thinner than its whole milk counterpart, but more or less tasteless, which is not much of a departure from the fattier version.

Seemingly identical to the Gut & Günstig Schoko Drink from an ingredient profile, but the experience is different. This version feels less creamy and overall more bland.

Very creamy and flavorful, more of a ‘dairy’ taste to it— also plenty of salt which helps to bring each sip to a satisfying conclusion.
Edeka Gut & Günstig Milch Drink Schokogeschmack
Nicely thin and smooth texture, but lacking much of a cocoa flavor for me. The primary taste is ‘sweet,’ and there’s not much else. I applaud the texture, but need more of everything else in order to get excited for the 2nd box.

Flavor that is an absolute punch in the face, this should not be missed. Very chalky, but for a good cause— incredibly strong and tasty cocoa flavor, plenty of cream, sweetness, and salt. Simply one of the best I have ever had!
Baren Marke Kakao
Straight down the middle in a lot of categories, this is a nice, average chocolate milk. Nothing particularly stands out, and the slightly thinner than average viscosity is welcomed. Solid, but ultimately forgettable.
Landliebe Laktosefrei Milch Schoko
Same great texture as its lactic counterpart, but narrowly missing the excellent confluence of flavors. Still, this is a highly capable substitute for the normal version and remains a pleasure to drink.

Creamy and solidly balanced from a flavor standpoint. The chocolate flavor has a bit of a ‘rummy’ quality to it that has been present in other chocolate milks as well. Still a solid choice, especially for the lactose averse.

Thin, delicate, and creamy— this immediately reminded me of Cocio. The flavors aren’t overpowering, but the combination is greater than the sum of its parts. Thoroughly enjoyable.

Can’t deny the slight sour taste that immediately reminded me of pickles (which I don’t like) or even what a pickle burp would be like. Not particularly sweet or chocolaty— on its own, might be passable, but in a tasting flight, this does not fare well.

Watery and bland, not much else to discuss. Nothing is particularly offensive, but there are much more flavorful ways to spend 20 seconds of your time.

Excellent creamy taste and straightforward chocolate flavor. Has a simplicity to it that is easy to drink and gets better with each sip. The taste is good enough that I can forgive the thickness.

Just bad. I know it’s 30% less sugar and lactose free, and for what it is, maybe that’s fine. But objectively, it tastes like wet cardboard.
Schärdinger Schocko Traum
Different type of taste here— I immediately thought ‘Cocoa Puffs’ or the residual milk leftover after a chocolate cereal. Combined with the artificial-feeling thickness of it, this is not recommended.
Spar Schoko Drink
Sweeter than its Spar Kakao counterpart and absolutely silky smooth. Easy to drink this one quickly. Well balanced and excellent texture.
Spar Kakao Drink
The cocoa flavor is prominent and is very much a ‘darker’ chocolate taste, which lends itself to a feeling of lower sweetness and a minuscule sourness (not in a bad way). Only complaint is the grainy texture, but that is a minor gripe considering everything else is above average.
